City of Glasgow is the Biggest of All Scottish Cities

City of Glasgow is the biggest city in all of Scotland and it is also the city with among the three largest populations in all of the United Kingdom. It is located by the River Clyde and in the west central Scottish lowlands. Anyone that hails from this city is referred to as a Glaswegian and this term also refers to a local Scottish dialect.

City of Glasgow grew more important during the tenth and eleventh centuries under the care of King David I who was a Scottish King and also under the care of John who was Glasgows Bishop. In fact the city is also famous for having religious sites that were established in the sixth century.

Over time, the city grew bigger and in the fifteenth century the University of Glasgow was founded and the city was promoted from being a bishopric to an archbishopric which gave the city more importance in terms of its educational and religion status.

Even though Glasgow is located in the same latitude as Moscow the climate it enjoys is more Oceanic and springtime here is mild and quite enjoyable. The city is centered around Glasgow Cathedral and its old High Street around which the city centre is located. In addition, the city has its retail as well as theater district and there is also a merchant city that lies to the east side of the city.

To the west lies the financial district which occupies areas known as Anderston and Blythswood Hill. The West End of Glasgow is known for being bohemian and there are many cafes as well as tea rooms and bars as well as boutiques and upscale hotels as well as clubs and even restaurants.

Places of interest include the Glasgow Botanic Gardens and then there is Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center.
